This Privacy Policy describes how Construction-Weather.com ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information about you when you visit our website or use our platform. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Construction-Weather.com is a weather intelligence platform for the construction industry, providing trade forecasts, historical data, EOT evidence tools, early warning notice drafting and tender planning services. Questions about this policy can be directed to Enquiry@Construction-Weather.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in we collect the information provided by your identity provider (currently Replit Auth), which may include your name, email address and a unique user identifier. We do not store passwords.
Usage data
We collect information about how you use the platform — pages visited, tools used, location searches performed and features accessed. This helps us improve the service and diagnose problems.
Location data
The platform requires a project location (coordinates or place name) to retrieve weather data. This location is sent to third-party weather APIs to fulfil your request. We may store recent locations to improve the experience within your session. We do not share your project locations with third parties for marketing purposes.
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or bank details. We receive confirmation of payment and a Stripe customer reference to manage your subscription status.
Communications
If you contact us by email we retain that correspondence to handle your enquiry. If you opt in to email alerts or reports, we store your email address and alert preferences to deliver those messages.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the platform and its features
- To deliver weather data, forecasts and exported documents you request
- To send alert emails, weekly reports and digest emails you have configured
- To manage your subscription and process billing via Stripe
- To improve the platform based on usage patterns
- To respond to support and sales enquiries
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Open-Meteo — weather data API (forecast and archive). Location coordinates are transmitted to Open-Meteo to retrieve weather data.
- Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — reverse geocoding to resolve coordinates to place names.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- OpenAI — AI drafting of early warning notice documents. Text content you provide (project names, conditions) may be sent to OpenAI to generate draft documents.
- Replit — infrastructure and authentication provider.
Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data to any third party.
5. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Alert configurations and monitor records are retained until you delete them or close your account. Usage logs are retained for a reasonable period for operational purposes and then deleted. If you request deletion of your account and data, contact us at Enquiry@Construction-Weather.com.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use session cookies to keep you signed in. We may use local storage to preserve application state (selected units, recent locations) between visits. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at Enquiry@Construction-Weather.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The platform is intended for use by construction industry professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or by email. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.
